"Positive Magic by Marion Weinstein, and Real Magic by Isaac Bonewitts.""I nominate Mists of Avalon, Witche's Bible Compleat and Starhawk"
"By Oak Ash and Thorn - DJ Conway is a very good book for meditation travelling techniques. Beginer to intermediate level."
"Celebrate the Earth -- Laurie Cabot also is good for learning about generic meanings for rituals for all of the major and minor sabbats. Beginner . I am not a cabot fan but it is a pretty inmclusive book."
"Cunninghams Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem & Metal Magic is also a good ( not too deep ) reference book."
"Scottish Witchcraft, The History & MAgick of the Picts -- Raymond Buckland --- a good place to begin solitary practice. It gives good advice on magical tools -- how to select / make / charge and use them. It provides solitarry rituals, basic dance steps, recipes, etc. it is a pretty cool book."
"I really like The Wheel of the Year by the Campenelli's. It takes the Sabbats in order beginning with Samhain and goes through the entire year. In each chapter it gives the meaninig and some history of the holiday, ways to celebrate it in your home or as a solitare, foods that go with it, games to play, and ways to decorate your home. In my opinion a very charming and fairly simple book which I would use to explain our belief system to those who are not familiar with it. I also use it myself as a source of ideas for adding to celebrations in my home."
"I also highly recommend Kipling's "Puck of Pook Hill" - for ALL experience levels. Also, Z Budapest's "Grandmother Moon". (I like her "earthiness")"
"I'd recommend all 5 (!) books of Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea Trilogy, and also The Wind in the Willows."
"Almost any Scott Cunningham book is informative and written on a level that makes it accessible to all. I have also found that his recipes work as they are intended to and produce usable results. His Solo Practitioner was one of the first books I used to learn the craft and was followed by his book on living a magickal life, I do not have the title at hand. I noticed that Laurie Cabot was mentioned and I would like to add myself to the people who find her books very informative and helpful. Again, easy to understand and practical."
"Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler (Excellent broad overview of a variety of Pagan paths.)"
"The Art of Ritual by Renee Beck & Sydney Barbara Metrick (Good basic introduction to common Pagan ritual structure using Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit.)"
"People of the Earth: The New Pagans Speak Out edited by Ellen Evert Hopman and Lawrence Bond (Interviews with Margot Adler, Starhawk, Susun Weed, Z. Budapest, Oberon G'Zell, Isaac Bonewitz, Selena Fox, etc. etc. etc. allowing them to describe in their own words "what they believe and what they practice.)"
"Paganism Today: Wiccans, Druids, the Goddess and Ancient Earth Traditions for the Twenty-First Century by Graham Harvey and Charlotte Hardman ("This collection of views from a wide range of Pagans and academics reflects the diversity of traditions and thinking that characterize modern Paganism.)"
